That's reportedly what he said when asked who and where he was after the crash. I have no idea if this report is accurate, but if true does not bode well for his career.

Scary. There are some seriously weird circumstances around this incident. I hope Fernando fully recovers. I didn't used to be a fan when he was younger, but never doubted his speed. I've since come to respect him greatly as a man and a driver.

I'm sort of confused. It seems like he has recovered most, if not all of his memories since then right? Or can one still have a "clean bill of health" with 20 years of lost memories?

I think the report was implying that the amnesia was directly after the crash but has since disappeared.

Luckily you can't trust anything you hear this far along in a story connected to F1. You get long retired drivers giving their opinions and claiming they have some inside source. I have no idea what shock or whatever caused the crash but it sounds like he was ready to race and then decided to listen to the doctors because another random concussion could be bad. Maybe it was very temporary, I was a Marine and I can't remember things from one injury I had, if he did loose some memory it probably came back quickly, rung his bell though.
